Heartfire Speech and Drama final workshop for 2026
Organised by Mercedes Logan
From Page to Stage: Bringing A Midsummer Night’s Dream to life. It is the third workshop in which we are focusing on developing the skills, based on the speech impulse of Rudolf Steiner and the acting techniques of the great Russian actor Michael Chekhov who based his whole methodology on his study of Rudolf Steiner’s work, on a production with your class or community. The play that was chosen has been A Midsummer Nights Dream because it is so frequently performed. Many teachers find themselves directing a play with their classes but feel they lack the skills to make the most of the opportunity. The focus in this third workshop will be; the speech and gesture skills with which to explore a text or interaction between characters and the skills for choreographing a scene or interaction on stage so that a moment in the play communicates to the audience what is really going on. Attendance at the first 2 workshops is not a prerequisite for attending the third as all three workshops have been designed to stand alone.
