Anthroposophia

In 'The History of the Anthroposophical Society' (GA 251) Rudolf Steiner quotes a love poem; "..."At the sight of her,
Breezes from Paradise seem gently to fan me.
Love itself gives her that smile,
And what her eyes say is no lie'.
... In this way did Sophia once enter the human soul and arrive at the point of being so intimately bound up with it that a beautiful love-poem, like that of Dante’s could be made about her; Sophia will again become objective, but she will take with her that which man is, and represent herself objectively in this form – now not merely as Sophia, but as Anthroposophia – as the Sophia who, after passing through the human soul, through the being of man, henceforth bears that being within her, and thus stands before enlightened man as once the objective being Sophia stood before the Greeks. This is the progress of the history of human evolution in relation to the spiritual facts under consideration..."
I am grateful to have been recently participating in an anthroposophical group exploring the meaning and experience of 'Anthroposophia'.
Steiner used the term to define a unique spiritual impulse that he hoped will be embodied in anthroposophical interactions.
An artistic exercise we recently attempted within our group was to create 3 images in pastels to represent:
1) what is the current challenge.
2) What we need to understand the challenge.
3) What the resolution might look like.
For me, the challenge facing the world is actually the same challenge faced by the Anthroposophical society... and the same challenge that each of us as individuals must meet as we progress with the development of our Consciousness soul experience.
It is difficult to describe how a spiritual being is made manifest by human soul activity.
The quote from Mathew's gospel; "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” reflects a spiritual law about how human social activity may interact with spiritual beings.
Human difficulty in gaining clarity about the soul influences of spiritual beings is understandable considering how limited our spiritual perception has become.
I am not clairvoiant, but insight into my inner experiences has offered avenues for personal research and hopefully, personal development.
Rudolf Steiner's emphasis on the influences of Lucifer and Ahiriman provide a wonderful starting point when identifying how these being are so intimately integrated into every day Human soul life.
The idea that Lucifer and Ahiriman are 'bad' reflects a limited understanding of the challenge facing Humanity.
These beings are an inescapable aspect of modern Human life.
It is interesting to consider that since the 'mystery of Golgotha', the Christ being is also a part of modern human life for all people. The challenge is how we relate to them!
While Humanity's historic, spiritual guidance continues to withdraw, the inner activity of beings like Lucifer and Ahirimam ... and the Christ, has become 'like a bag of snakes' that, while being an essental part of human soul life, are very difficult to manage. Inner work enables one to begin to identify these influences and 'lay them out straight', enabling the Human use of these impulses.
How does the Christ impulse play into this process? It has helped me to remember (and try to embody) the idea of 'Simple Goodness'. The idea of "the Christ in Me" lifts my awareness out of the personal memories and temprement of my Etheric body and the flow of thoughts and feelings from my Astral configuration (characterological disposition). The closest I can come to 'Christ consciousness' in this life is to explore 'Conscience'... to strip away the cultural baggage that generally moderates Human thinking and behaviour and seek the core of what may be truely Human.
Inner work happens in the context of the outer world and all around me I see social structures the generate trauma in Human souls. Hate and Love... the ubiquitous wars that reflect forces that toy with Human incapacity to recognise them.
Anthroposophia is born out of knowledge of what is truely human... a question that each if us must answer.
The Heirachies that honour spiritual Freedom are waiting for Humans to step up. The changes currently necessary in the material world will be an act of Human will and cannot be 'legislated' because they have their source in Spiritual experience (Freedom).
When two or three are gathered in the name of Human wisdom (Anthroposophia) the outcome cannot be predicted by any individual.
For me, The focus of attention and compassionate understanding required to maintain equanimity in this inner work is directly supported by the doing (will) the 6 subsidiary exercises.
Anthroposophia is a 'social' ideal that inspires me to continue seeking the truly Human connection in my world.
I also appreciate the work of Marshall Rosenberg, an American psychologist, whose work with 'Non-Violent Communication (NVC)' has provided a rational (thinking) framework understand and take responsibility for the experience of my Feelings and the spiritual impulses (beings) that motivate my will (Human Needs)
Anthroposiphia inspires my inner work and when she becomes manifest in self understanding and my social interactions, we all may benefit.
I'm sure there are other pathways to manifest our Human destiny and no one is perfect.
If a job is worth doing, it is worth doing poorly!... because... if we don't try.... it won't happen.
Have a nice day ♡
